The Setting Sun

Montz, Louisiana

We broke a heat record today--87 degrees. The red of the sun surely shows it.
Correction: The weather man just said it was 89 degrees.
We need rain desparately. We are already about 10 inches below normal in rain.

other sizes: small medium original auto

I love the glow on the water. Very nice

strange weather indeed - we had freezing cold and snow flurries here, not exactly typical for april.
beautiful shot though - the position of the sun before it sinks into the cloud perfectly timed.

Interesting weather, Coleen...excessive for Spring, while here we cannot shake Summer despite being in our second month of Autumn. Yesterday 35.9 ( that's 96 to you ) a late afternoon thunderstorm that took the power out over a large area & such oppressive humidity !
What's your weatherman's opinion on global warming or do I need to ask... :>(

Very moody sky with unusual colour.

Boy, that does look hot! It looks like July does here. Be careful what you ask for. Rain???

Lovely shot with beautiful warm (sorry) colors. The essence of a lazy afternoon.

The only thing better than a sunset shot is a sunset shot on the water. Beautiful image. Voted.

Beautiful the way it is cradled in the clouds and leaves the lovely reflection on the water.

Wonderful work.

Very nice shot, Coleen ~ You had us beat by a long shot; the state that never rains is once again raining & I bet our high wasn't 50! When you see the clouds I'm going to post, you'll see what I mean... Beauty capture here & hurray you're not in the rain or tornadoes!

You captured the beauty in the heat.

Beautiful red sunset. I was just telling my husband it must have been close to 90 degrees today downtown, without the "feels like" factor the newscasts add on. Glad to hear an official report confirms this, thought I was getting sick again.
