The glass, horse-drawn hearse bearing the casket of Archbishop Philip Hannan reflects the clergy and people waiting for his arrival at St. Louis Cathedral where he will be interred beneath the altar.
Having served for decades as Archbishop of New Orleans, the 98 year old beloved man, previously served his country in World War II as an Army Chaplain with the 82nd Airborne Division. He arrived in New Orleans just days after Hurricane Betsy flattened and flooded the City in 1965. He was a man for all people and all seasons. Well done, O good and faithful servant.
