This photo was taken when the Mississippi River was flowing into the Bonnet Carre' Spillway and fish were plentiful for the egrets and herons. The parent caught and swallowed this fish, then flew five miles to the rookery. She again coughed up the fish to feed her babies. Unbelievable of the beauty and wonders of nature.
