This was my first visit to Finland so I really didnīt know what to expect. A visitor who comes here for the first time in Winter is always told to return again in Summer. It is easy to understand why. The whole place just breathes life. Light changes so quickly. A clear sky sunrise can change into an overcast sky in a matter of seconds. I hope some of these do the light and the lakelands justice. Finland is said to have its way of leaving lasting impressions on all those who come close. In my case that might not be too far from the truth. A strong bond seems to have developed linking me to this fascinating land. Finland, a pristine wilderness, sauna, cold lakes, cosy summer cottages, the Kalevala, Itīs all there! Enjoy.
