This view of seemingly endless pineapple fields will probably disappear from Hawaii in the very near future.
The state's largest producer, Del Monte has shut down all canned pineapple operations in Hawaii allegedly because of economic reasons.
This is ironic since the image of Hawaii and pineapples is forever etched in the minds of people all over the world.
Next to Diamond Head, pineapples are about as Hawaiian as you can get.
Although, pineapples originally came to Hawaii from the Carribean.
