This is the first or original statue that was commissioned. This statue was lost in a shipwreck on its way to Hawaii.
It was later salvaged and since Honolulu already had a statue the decision was to place the original near his birthplace in North Kohala.
The features are non Hawaiian and are closer to those of a Roman emperor.
Not surprising since it was made in Italy.
