In the distance you can see Sandy Beach and the backside of Koko crater.
The crater is also known as Kohelepelepe ("the fringed vagina") due to its resemblance to that part of the female anatomy.

Hello again Selvin, Seems I keep running into your photos. I've been looking for some good shots of this area to show to a friend. This is perfect! I ride my bike up here almost everyday, but have only brought my camera up once. It's pretty heavy! I'll send my friend a link to this shot. I bet this area is much greener now. btw..do you have any shots of those small, purple wild orchids that you find up on some of the ridges around east Oahu? Thanks, Debra
