Sudley House, Liverpool

A little gem very well worth a visit.
George Holt came from a family of prominent local businessmen and was a noted philanthropist. He started collecting artworks in the late 1860s. He bought Sudley House in 1884 and moved there with his wife and daughter, Emma. The daughter never married and lived at Sudley until her death in 1944. She bequeathed the house and paintings to the City of Liverpool.
