One of the most emotional trips I have ever taken.
Aceh, just a few months after the terrible
tsunami of 2005. I went there to shoot the kids
of Aceh for a book called, "Letters From Aceh".
I only had two days to shoot, and on our last
day, we went down to the pier where a few ships
were turned on their sides. I thought this shot
said it all about the attitudes of people in Aceh.
Total destruction all around, yet everyone kept smiling.
Life goes on...
