I hiked about 7 miles the day that I visited and at all elevations. This flower was the only flower in bloom that I saw in the Park. It was blooming all alone next to a rock that provided it some cover from the winds. No surprise, it was located in one of the lower regions of the mountain. I later hiked nearer the peak of the mountain on trails covered with over four feet of snow. It was fun experiencing conditions varying from mid-spring to mid-winter within just a few miles of each other.
