What you've done in chronicling the crash site of this B-24 resonates with me. My father was a B-24 pilot in WW2 having received his training at Mountain Home, ID and eventually serving with the 456 BG 15th AF in Cerignola, Italy in 1944-45. When my wife and I passed SW of Mt. Humphreys last week on a sightseeing flight to the Grand Canyon our pilot pointed out the glistening wreckage on the mountainside. Dad said that more crews were lost in his time due to training accidents than in actual losses to the Germans. I wanted very much to learn more about this part of AZ and USAAF history and you've done a commendable job. I agree that the condition of the aircraft, while a total loss is a testament to its design and ability to take punishment. Regards from CT.
