I fondly remember using "rubylith" ... cutting for hours by hand with an X-Acto razor knife. This was in the pre-digital formative days of my entrepreneurial youth. I felt compelled and obsessed to pummel my kind customers with my ads and flyers.
Rubylith was a separable two-layer acetate film of red or amber emulsion on a clear base. It had many uses in graphics, most often for color separations by hand in the composition or so-called stripping departments. Now the "stripping department" of my studio has enjoyed a transition to an ever more charming meaning. Life is sweet. I love it all.
