Friends of ours have up to a dozen raccoons visit each night... we just had to go and see them.
They were quite timid, I had to sit on the ground and wait for several minutes before they approached.
It was quite dark, making for difficult shooting conditions. Used ISO 2500 and relied on the flash.

At first they were a bit unsure of the flash, each time I took a photo they ran and hid in a tree:
This raccoon was determined not to share any food with the others, and had a great blocking move:
