LOOKING FOR PHOTOS OF DEPOT AT YARNALLTON,KY. I LIVED CLOSE TO IT IN LATE 50S AND EARLY 60S.THERE WAS ALSO LARGE RAILROAD YARD IN LEXINGTON WHICH WAS USED PRIMARILY TO TURN TRAINS AROUND BACK TO E. KY( ONCE COAL CARS WERE TRANSFERRED TO TRAINS GOING TO OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY.) MY DAD WAS AN LN TRACK INSPECTOR FOR ABOUT 20 YRS.

Love your depot photos! It's already been mentioned in the comments column, but the "Big Four" Depot in Galion, OH. is truly a gem--and there are plans in works to re-use and renovate. It appears to be the only " Big Four" Railroad district headquarters station still standing. There is a page on Facebook: Friends of the Galion Big Four Depot.

I have been willed the old Train Depot at New Salem Ohio. My great Grandfather worked it many years ago. It is in bad condition. I would like to restore it before it falls down. can anyone give me some advice on restoring this building?? Thank You Mike Berry

Stephen, I've enjoyed looking thru your depot photo collection. I have photographed many of the same depots that you have, and look forward to photographing some of the ones I am missing. I have a website named www.DepotMaps.com where I use Google Maps to plot the locations of all the surviving passenger depots in the Continental U.S. There are over 8,500 depots plotted, and over half (4,438) have photos attached. I'm continually adding ne photos to the collection, and have been assisted by numerous contributors. If you'd be so inclined, I would love to add some of your photos to the collection. Your name would be inclided in the IPTC header of each photo used. Check out DepotMaps and see what you think of it. I'd be interested in your comments, including any suggestions for improvement! Nice stuff Stephen. I went to Central Missouri State Univ. at Warrensburg, MO in the 70's and I used to catch the Amtrak train home to the East Coast from that station. You really made th old place look good. Clearly it's been fixed up. If you really want to see a neat station.... Check out the old "Big Four" Depot at Galion, Ohio

Great Pictures. I have been to most of these Depots. I worked for a retail chain that had stores in most all of these towns, I am now retired. I was their Real Estate Manager.

vote,, gald those " Short Sighted" Knot Head Officals on these railroads saved a few old depots. Far too many were simply " Torn Down". Very nice collection!!

While I am uncertain whether you want your photos to be "currently active" depots, there is a unique old depot that was converted into a museum in Shawnee, OK. It is now the home of the Santa Fe Depot Museum and is maintained by the Pottawatomie County Historical Society. The depot's architecture reminds one of a castle. Being a railroad buff myself, I am enjoying all of your railroad pictures. Good work!!

You must have the nation's largest collection of depot photographs! I have only two in my galleries: Hammondsport, NY and Luray, VA--neither one currently used as a depot. Sad. Nice gallery.
