No idea when, why, or how the photo (Obsolete SF Badges) was taken. If it was a digital photo, then it would have been taken while the star and number were assigned to me. Digital photography didn't come into play until after the star and number were mine. There is a long (and interesting, if you are into that sort of thing) story about how I ended up with TWO Patrol Officer stars. A photo of my Inspector's star can be found on my LynkedIn page. If you'd like to here more, let me know.

Hi samsast my name is merc. I was wondering if you could help me out. I saw your pictures of old badges and I was trying to look up badges here in New Jersey where I live. It would be what did the badges look like in 1972 for Springfield township? Can you tell me how to get police officer names and badge numbers, is that possible? thank you love your photos. merc

Bob , Yes Jim , Al and Mark are veteran collectors many people looking for sterling or GF these days. The Chinatown album has been deleted for more space. Facebook "We grew up in San Francisco Chinatown" has 100's of pics new and old .They have the biggest collection.

Nice Marin Co Deputy Sheriff badge. I bought it from Jim Casey years ago then sold it to Al Mize and he sold it to Mark Keller and so on... For such a nice badge that seems to be a keeper it sure has changed hands a lot. I miss seeing your old photos of China Town. Are they listed on another site?

FYI for people who visit this site. Pics were sent to me from collectors, officers and some I got from internet. There is no sale of any items here, but if want to contact a site visitor please be "buyer beware" I'm guessing over 75-80% of the for sale out there are fake/copies. ask questions from know veterans in the hobby.

My father was a true SFPD legend. The late Sgt. Paul Alan Largent, original badge # 1162. A 30+ year veteran, who passed away in 1995. I am his son and I will forever carry on his name and represent the legacy my father left.

I'm a retired Los Angeles Police Officer. I never thought to keep my badge as a sentimental momento when I left the DEPT. (in good standing). Is it possible to obtain a quality replica with my badge number on it. Are real KAAG or series 6 badges available to purchase, cost is not an issue. Best Regards, Andrew W. Edwards LAPD Serial #14290

Nice collection of information and pro shots. Excellent website. I work with movie props, and designe new products for upcomming productions. It is very important for me to get an authentic look without reproducing an item that can be missused after production ends. Have used your site as a resource of infomation in the past. Keep up the great work.

Hello from Germany,

as a friend of San Francisco and a SFPD patch collector I´m very surpriced about this side. I like your galleries, especially the San Francisco Police Department gallery and the San Francisco History Gallery.
