Some of you may recognize this guy from the dpreview forums.
He is none other than professional fashion photographer Ron Purdy.
An amazingly talented photographer who also happens to be a bit
of a tech guru, as you can tell by his helpful postings. He also
enjoys using very fine gear.
My gear affiliation with Ron goes back to 1999, before he became a big man in the
business. I had responded to an ad Ron had for a Nikkor lens. We met, sat, and had coffee as
I tested the lens. Back then we both sang the praises of the amazing Nikon F100 film camera
that we both were using at the time. We both had some nitpicks on that camera too, nitpicks
on an otherwise near perfect film camera. Over the years, I think I bought and sold a
couple other photography related items with Ron. And he's always been generous with advice.
This is a shot taken in his NYC studio in 2006. Congrats to big Ron on how far he's come
in the business!
Note: Ron seemed genuinely surprised when I showed up to inspect a digital camera for
sale, with a film camera in my hand! :)
