Marion and Amboy Townships
Green River Ordinance was created shortly after the US entered World War II to manufacture
munitions. It continued operations until the war ended, and it was then quickly abandoned. Some
of the facility's structures have been demolished, but some remain, such as this old water tower.
For the most part, the area is now primarily utilized as a landfill and a metal scrap yard.
