Slains castle and Cruden Bay....

Slains Castle was originally the 16th century stone tower house of Bowness, founded by the Hays. In 1597, the 9th Hay Earl of Errol absorbed the tower house, in the construction of a courtyard castle. The later Hay Earls of Errol, substantially rebuilt the castle over the centuries but sadly it was abandoned by 1925...

I'm never tired to visit castles through your galleries.
There is such a deep and sensitive attention to light, angles, perspective...and there is what cannot be added just by a good technique...

my wife's mother was born in Slains Castle Cottage, now just a ruin on the path up to the castle!! Lovely photos and lovely memories for her of a childhood spent in the shadow of this wonderful castle.
