Daniel, I was wondering where you obtained a picture from the USS Spikefish crew picture. Was this from a larger collection? I've been looking for additional pictures of my grandfather Robert Earl Bell who served as a cook on the Spikefish for the duration of that submarines involvement in World War 2. I was not sure if there existed a book that had pictures similar to a cruise book. Your page is awesome by the way, a great tribute to these men and to your families history.

Hi Daniel
My family the Phelps were neighbours with the Bells in Moyallen County Down. As family emigrated to America they kept in touch through Abraham Bell and Co. I would love to get a hold of Abraham Bell, Merchant and Ship Builder (1778-1856) Daniel E. Bell. Any suggestions as to where I may find it. Best regards

Thoroughly enjoyed you photos and 'bits' on your great grandfather and his involvement
with the early architecture of the ALC . . . it brought back fond memories of growing up and
hearing stories past down from my g.grandfather of his ' leisurely days in the woods' at Forest Lodge on Jock's Lake and the organizing of the Adirondack League Club.
It's wonderful to see that your family can all be together to enjoy such a very special piece
of our Adirondack Mountains and the history such an area brings to life.

Danny I took look at your body of work and I am happy to report that it is outstanding. You have as Hockney would put it , all 3... Eye, Hand, and Heart. That makes the picture complete. It is very helpful to see what setting the picture was taken at- very helpful indeed.

My husband and I owned a house at 27 Westcott Rd. in Princeton that was supposedly moved from an estate near Brevard NC in 1946 by a man named Daniel Houck -- could that have been your mother's father? I am doing research on the house and came across your site and photos. Your mother's Princeton home is a very similar style, but ours was much smaller.

Dan,
Just looked over your photos from Paris again. Loved them. Emilie was there over Christmas. She will be home April 16. Will share your trip with her.
