Traveling the Back Roads

It is Memorial Day Weekend; time to walk out the door and have a “blue highways” drive along the highways and byways of the Northwest. I love motor trips by myself where I can just do whatever I please. This is habit I have nourished ever since I bought my first car, a blue 1957 Chevy back in my Army days.

Today gas = $4.00 a gallon. My first car was a black '67 VW bug. Could fill the tank for about $3.00 in those days. Once drove it 10,000 miles around the country and across Canada. The worst part? Didn't take a camera with me... :^O
