Civl War

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Back in my “youth” I majored in American History in both College and Graduate School, and I even taught it for a couple of years at Wasson High School in Colorado Springs.

While my career has taken me far afield, I retain my love of history. This Spring I am re-reading Shelby Foote’s three volume history of the Civil War and also re-viewing Ken Burns’ Public Television series on the war. Both are outstanding.

The man on the TV is the most famous of all American generals, CSA’s Robert E. Lee.

Isn't Civil War
an oxymoron.

I love it too, Robin! My sister is into geneology and has traced our roots back to English royalty....yeah, right! We have a lot of ancestors that fought in the civil war and a lot of stories that would curl your hair regarding them. I find it interesting and when I read about it I feel like I am there.

Nicely presented Robin. Make yourself a great lunch and pull the shades.

Loved that series and have always been a student of history,
especially the Civil War.

Colonial/Revolutionary period is my favorite. Reading Washington's Secret War, now. History tells it all. We just have to find it.

I love history and Shelby Foote, also.
