Mt Washington

Jackson, NH

From Chappaqua I have wound my way up to Jackson, NH where my first wife lives. This is a small storybook town and the home of some excellent ski runs (by Eastern standards.) Many people have second homes here. It has many fine hostelries including some charming Inns. We dined at one last night and I got a 1 1/2 hour massage there today.

Mount Washington is the highest peak in the American Northeast at 6,288 ft (1,917 m). It is famous for its dangerously erratic weather, holding the record for the highest wind gust directly measured at the Earth's surface, at 231 mph (372 km/h) on the afternoon of April 12, 1934.

Really enjoying the rolling hills, the great fall colors and frosty white snow on the peak. Great job Robin. V.
