Mar. 10: Limbering Up the 70-200 f/2.8 L IS

Rancho Bernardo, CA

This lens gathers a lot of dust in my closet. To initiate the first week of my new 4th year I will have it on the camera for the next 7 days.

Perhaps one of my birder friends can tell me what this little fellow is called?

with that lens he looks like a BIG fella not a little one =) . . .and if you are not going to use that dust-gathering lens all that much . . . you can send it to ME, via Liza . . .or vice versa =))))

'course . . . first I need to get the camera, huh . . .

you know, it looks like a house finch to me. But if you are having trouble finding a good use for that lens you might just want to decide that your good friend liza should spend some time with it. I've toyed with the idea of buying it but alas I think it is probably too heavy to be useful to me. But if you want to send it here so that I can be certain, feel free.

Excellent shot, terrific DOF. That is a heavy lens, but I can't imagine if I had one my attitude would differ from Karen's. :)

this lens stays on one camera at all times, and is grabbed for everything except wider shots. You'd pry it out of my cold dead hands :)

IF I'm not mistaken, it's a house finch. Use that lens or lose it, buddy!

Very nice perch shot on the female house finch Robin. Now you need to catch the male, he has a ruby colored head.

I agree with Herb on the ID. That's too good a lens to not use often!

Nice catch!
