The Bloom

Rancho Bernardo, CA

January 4: Living in Paradise

After the torrential rains (1 inch or so) earlier in the week, Southern California has reverted to its usual sunshine; just in time for the Rose Bowl tonight.

This Bird of Paradise shot was really a "lens test." I wanted to see how my 70-300 DO would look on the 5D. I think I'll keep them both! ;-)

Go Trojans!

When you're ready to get rid of either keep me in mind, ok :)
Color for a starving grey snow surrounded is just what the photo doc ordered.

Terrifically clear.
Coincidence? We both picked a bird of paradise against the blue sky. ;-)

Excellent shot. It really shows the glory of this magnificent flower. For comparison, please take a look at my go but with a very different lenes 50mm f/1.8 AF:http://www.pbase.com/jarekm/image/51847938 andhttp://www.pbase.com/jarekm/image/51847758

(That Bird of Paradise is the perfect burnt orange color, by the way.)

Love the image, Robin, but not your choice of football teams. Go Longhorns!

Your storm that wet the parade, only gave me 5 inches of snow at my house. Nice capture Robin, looks very sharp, I'd say a keeper.
