The beach is at its best this time of the year … jammed with folks loving the sun and water while the ugly yet functional Lifeguard tower provides a vantage point for the dedicated men and women who protect the public from drowning and injury.

The racing season is just underway at the nearby famous Del Mar track (“where the turf meet the surf,”) attracting hordes of people to the Poseidon (see below) for lunch and conversation.
