Marvelous work on both versions... however, I am in an "it is what it is" frame of mind. Therefore I lean toward the original more natural version. But they both work well.

I like the faded tones of the top photo, it suits the antiquity of the wheel!

I like the composition without the green leaves. It is much more balanced with just the two main focus points, the wheel and the plant. Very nice.

Hey Robin.......Love those old wheels. I also REALLY like the image however found the peter pans leaves distracting for a couple of reasons.

In the revised iamge...I do like it better......I would however boost the tones in the plant a bit because they are the same rusty color as in the wheel and I feel the should be brought out a bit more.........one other thing I would have done when cropping it, was to rotate it just a tad to the right so that the spoke of the wheel comes right out of the left bottom corner.

That's my story and I am sticking to it!

I'll echo Patricia's comment about the green leaves. They distract
from an otherwise good image.

My first remark to myself was wow that is nice. I always analyze after the first impact. So here goes. What i like is the wheel and the plant both are muted colors so I am bothered by the green fronds coming in from the bottom corners. Using a third color here does not work because the contrast in color is not screaming. So I would not have included them. I would like to see them cropped out. Altho I do like the full wheel I think the impact of this image is in the textures and the soft tones. Other than that I love it. You're eye is improving..

Yeah, so that is you I hear every night howling in the distance. Wonderful old tire and I love the succulents growing over it! Wow! I really love this shot. Reminds me of here!
