Shooting Low

Westcliffe, CO

There are two stories about this image:

1) I was shooting low from a ditch … a POV encouraged by many including my Pbase friend * Di ** who demonstrated this skill very well when we did our big tour of Colorado three years ago. So she was on my mind as I took the shot.

2) In the process of going low I fell flat of my derriere and without realizing it lost my iPhone. That problem was discovered miles and minutes away from said ditch! In a mild panic we backtracked, looked at the photo I had taken, and sister Judy dialed my mobile number while Dave and I tramped along the suspect ditch. And voila, we could hear the ringing and the phone was saved.

The blue cloudless skies are genuine and are a hallmark of Colorado and New Mexico.

Many people don't fully appreaciate what a photographer goes through to get a great image.
I was happy to read there was a happy ending.

Not to mention that this is a "fence" shot as well! You know I love the perspective and subject matter.
