Lunch

In some parts of Beijing we were encouraged NOT to drink the water, unless it was boiled. Tea (hot tea) was safe and so was beer.

Our first lunch, in Beijing, was served at large round tables with Lazy Susans in the middle.

As we would come to find out in the coming days, Lazy Susans were widely used in China when large numbers of diners had to be served at one meal.
Lunch had 10 courses that included chicken, pork, broccoli, duck, cabbage, and more….

The meal was delicious.

I can deal with this recommendation... as long as there is Tsingtao beer!

My friend of 54 years, Harry Lee, was a first generation Chinese American. He always had Lazy Susans on the table.
These are all beautiful, sharp and colorful photos. I am enjoying your trip to China.
