In some parts of Beijing we were encouraged NOT to drink the water, unless it was boiled. Tea (hot tea) was safe and so was beer. |
Our first lunch, in Beijing, was served at large round tables with Lazy Susans in the middle. |  As we would come to find out in the coming days, Lazy Susans were widely used in China when large numbers of diners had to be served at one meal. |
