Wrecked Wreck

The Ettrick Bay Shipwreck on the Isle of Bute was destroyed
during the storms that battered the island 31st Dec 2006/1st Jan 2007,
it was too unsafe to stay in place so here they are bulldozing it, Ettrick is just not the same anymore.

Didn't know you'd documented its disposal, Zak. Very interesting. Yet another important part of Bute's history that you've recorded. Well done, again!

This was my grandfathers fishing boat - he sold it on when he retired. He passed away before she was run aground, it would have broken his heart to see his livelihood to see it in such a sorry state.

Really enjoyed seeing the full slate of pictures showing the efficient disposal of the Co Worker. We spent lots of time on Ettrick Bay as kids. I don't suppose the " Up + Over" amusement ride is still there. You had to use a system of increasing momentum until the cage you were in went up + over the top bar. It was like what you do when you fling a swing over the transverse bar, only instead of a swing it was you going over! Great pics. Keep'em coming.

Zak, we visited Bute last year and I took some photos of the Co-Worker. I couldn't remember which bay it was that we had seen the shipwreck and today have discovered not only the name, the resting place but also that she is gone! The wonders on the internet - thanks for the photos and "RIP" caption!
