Hi, Ruth!
Thanks for sharing your photos from all of your wonderful journeys! John and I have started looking at them all, focusing especially on Viking Ocean since we'll be cruising with them (in 2025!!!). I also look forward to seeing all of those that you took on our journey to Santiago de Compostela!

I'm sorry. I just saw your questions now. Hopefully you'll see this before you leave. In Geiranger I just walked to the church and hotel and came down there - easy to find the way to go. Take it easy and it's not bad; protect your camera toward the end of the walk because there's spray. From campground it wasn't hard to find my way back, and I loved that old wooden set of building I photographed somewhere around there. At the church, there was plenty of explanation of what you're seeing, and yes, you do go inside. I take my camera, or at least a camera, everywhere I go so I'm ready to take pictures. Then I crop a bit on the ship with basic software and do a little (but not a lot) of photoshopping. Never have enough time to do a lot, so finish up at home and post to pbase. Thanks for the compliments; have a wonderful time. We loved this trip.

Ruth & Howard,. I thoroughly enjoyed your Midnight Sun photo gallery and captions. Excellent! I followed the Roll Call too. We do Midnight Sun end of June and are very excited. Questions:in Gerianger did you walk up the road to the church and Union Hotel and then down the stairs walkway to the campground? Wanting to do that but not sure which way is best. Bergen excursion including Fantoft Stave Church, did guide explain about symbolism and architecture and did you see inside? Again your photos are outstanding. I loved the framing, different viewpoints, and chosen subject matter from stunning scenery to little boats to architectural details. Happy travels. Lorna & Ray

Thanks, Skip & Gail. It has taken me a while to get to the point where I am, and my pictures get better each cruise I take. Adding the dialog is easy - built into the pbase software. It's one reason I use pbase instead of other sites where adding dialog is much more limited or non-existent. I like to tell a story and to put info to use in case I make it back to that same place & want to revisit things. First I try to save my pics with a title that includes photo # and basic caption. Then when I load things into pbase, most pictures are in chronological order, which makes it easier to tell the story, with less typing involved.

Your pictures are amazing, Ruth! We should throw ours away and save yours! We are Skip and Gail from the Pacific cruise in Jan. What do you use to add the dialog? Thank you for sharing! We enjoyed these very much this morning!

I came to your album to see your pictures of the Baltic. I stayed to see lots of the other places you have photographed - many place I have been.

Good photographs, good subjects, and lots of excellent stuff!

OMG you did such a fabulous job taking the pictures and your diary was great too. Did we go on the same trip? Ruth have you ever thought of being a toured guide. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed them.

Eldon and I stayed till Friday in Stockholm. I loved the city but stayed one day to long cuz we were ready to come home. and the weather was changing and we had some rain.

Believe it or not it took till today to recover from the jet lagg. Our flight home was miserable. Door to door it took us 25 hours to get home. Stockholm to London, to Chicago with a 5 hour lay over and than on to San Jose.
After Eldon, gets off his butt I will have him send you a few pictures of Stockholm and let you know what we missed.
He hasn't seen your pictures yet.

Please confirm this is your correct e mail. Nice meeting you guys and hope Howard is feeling better.

Hi! I'm taking the Cities of Light tour, leaving August 25 just like you did. I enjoyed your photos and comments. Could you tell me about the weather? I'm confused about what to bring, Also, how did women dress for dinner on the boat? I want to pack light, but I want to be prepared. I've never been on a river cruise, and I've never been to Germany or Prague. Help! Thanks! Terry

Hi Ruth, Thanks for stopping by my gallery. Curacao is amazing. We have been there twice on cruises and enjoyed every moment. Have a wonderful time. I will look forward to seeing your images when you return.

It is hard to take a "bad" photo of Yosemite. Glad you enjoyed the photos.

Nancy Kline again here. I just thought I'd note that I have another site here at pbase and it shows the trip I referred to in my previous message (Turkey, Greece, Italy). It's at pbase/nancykline. My email address is nancy.kline@cox.net.

Hello Ruth. You posted a comment on my pbase site (nkline) a couple of years ago, before your trip to Italy and Greece on the Insignia. We had made a trip to Italy and you noted some of my pictures there, and we were also traveling with Oceania. At any rate, I just today discovered your note and then looked at your sites and your photographic journey. We made another trip to Turkey, Greece and Italy in 2008 and saw many of the same places you had been to. I haven't uploaded to pbase for awhile (I've been using Kodak Easy Share Gallery), but I just wanted you to know I loved your pictures and comments. I sense a kindred spirit. Nancy Kline
