A National Landmark, San Javier is an historic Spanish Catholic mission founded by the Jesuit Father Eusebio Kino in 1692. Construction of the current church began in 1783 and was completed in 1797.
The interior of the "White Dove of the Desert" is richly decorated with beautiful original statues, paintings, carvings, and frescos.
It is now run by the Franciscans and continues to serve the Arizona Native community for which it was built.
