9 Nov... Remembrance

Some of the countless Remembrance crosses at Westminster Abbey today. More poignant were the old men laying them.

This picture is dedicated to my great uncle:
Private Arthur Aldridge served with the 2nd/1st Bucks Battalion, Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry and died aged 19 in the Battle of Loos-en-Gohelle on 19 July 1916. He has no known grave.

I think these personally written small crosses are worth so much more than the set piece wreaths. A lovely tribute.
