Intermediate altitude cloud/rain forest.

The intermediate altitude cloud/rain forest is still abundant on the island. It is to cold here to cultivate sugarcane and most of it lies safely within the boundaries of the National park.
Typical for this area are the many treeferns. (locally called fanjan). Epiphytical as well as terrestrial orchids are common
