East German Air Force

The Lüftstreitkräfte und Lüftverteidigung der Nationaler Volksarmee (LSK/LV) ceased to exits in October 1990. A few months before, CiC General Rolf Berger hoped his air force could contribute a lot in the re-united Luftwaffe, but this wasn't meant to be. Only the MiG-29's were of intrest, other aircraft and helicopters were retired swiftly, bases were closed and many people lost their jobs. In the early 1990's, hundreds of MiG's were scrapped, others and other types went to musea.
