Hello, I love your photos, Also May I ask what adapter components are you using on your D70 Part numbers and source if possible? I have a D70 and the 50mm 1.8 lens just trying to find out how to get them onto a scope. I tryed Kits camera but have not tryed Glazers yet but have not found any info.
Thanks

Thank you for helping me. We have had snow on the ground here in SW Kitsap Co. all week and when that happens; I feed the birds. Mostly dozens of wrens and chickadees. However, this morning, I caught a new visitor. I'm not a birwatcher; just think having them around the garden is helpful.

Anyway; turns out it was a Spotted Towhee; thanks to your pics.

You take such beautiful photos! I bought 2 pictures that you took of Kelso at Great Dog this Saturday! Kelso is one of my dog's puppies, and it was so exciting seeing his photos on Saturday! We show them off to everyone, and I can't wait to have you take pictures of my babies :)

I am completely in awe of the talent that Ilene has for capturing the joy, beauty and reverance of nature. Of course I adore her pet photos as Misty is a much loved member of the Great Dog family. In addition I see several of our Great Dog canines gracing this fabulous site. Ilene, thanks for sharing your talent with us!

Your pictures are gorgeous! I sent them to my husband and my sister for two different reasons. To my husband because he likes "close-up" photography and to my sister because she just ordered a D200 yesterday and I noticed your Recent Additions were using that camera. Thanks for sharing!

BTW -- I got your link from the Photoshop CS Group.

Ilene, I have similar setup to yours...a D70 attached to a Swaroski spotting scope. Someone told me that I shouldn't use the camera's autofocus because it would put a strain on the auto function mechanism of the camera and may damage it. Have you heard of this or have you had any problems? Thank you

Hellohello, thank you for sharing these beautiful photos. On the Oregon Coast here, I see these same birds everyday they vacation here, or at least some of their shared DNA. Your interests and travels afford you some great photo ops. I travel when I can, but mainly do the virtual traveling. Things like this make the world go round, my window to the world! Kind of isolated here. thankyouthankyouthankyou

Thanks for sending this on. What great pictures, I'll share them with my daughter and they will hopefully inspire her on her senior project.

Dear Ilene

I found this page when I did a search on "Samowitz".
Maybe we are related, I've dabbled in some photography myself. Your work is beautiful.

Hi Ilene,

You have a nice collection of photographs. I enjoyed your birds and dragonflies. I have played around with digiscoping and use a similar system Leica APO 77 (straight) with 20-60 and 30 eyepieces and Coolpix 990. I also shoot with Canon D60 & 10D, but haven't tried them with the Leica scope.

May I ask what adapter components are you using to connect your D70 with your Leica? Part numbers and source if possible?

Most of my digiscoping photos are in my albums of Texas Birds and East Texas (dragonflies).

Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Ilene.

Your photos from Texas are great. I can't wait to get somewhere very birdy with my new D70.

Your "Caspian Terns" are Royals, by the way. Note the spring wing molt, which you don't see in Caspians.
