A traghetto is a gondola that ferries passengers across the Grand Canal
for about 70 cents. Since there are only three bridges that span the Grand Canal,
a tragehetto offers another method in getting across. It is operated by the city's
transit system and manned by two gondolieri. It takes only a minute or so to cross the canal.
Up to ten people can stand in a traghetto.
