A unique strain called "White Wings" (a cross between Vanda Miss Joaquim var. Josephine, and Vanda hookerana alba was crossed with an alba Vanda teres to produce Vanda Diana, a white Vanda similar in shape to Vanda Miss Joaquim. However, World War II had prevented Singapore from registering the hybrid with the Royal Horticultural Society in London. As a result, the Hawaiians have precedence with the name. The hybrid is now properly called Vanda Poepoe var. Diana.
