Scientific name: Ducula aenea aenea (Linnaeus, 1766).
Distribution: India to S. China, Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra and Java. Common resident, keeping to the upper canopy of primary and mangrove forests to 3,600 feet.
Size 40 cm. Seen singly except when pairing or in family parties, rarely making flights in large flocks like other pigeons.
