Tindari is prominently visible to the west of Portorosa, with the Sanctuary of the Black Madonna perched on a promontory. The church is relatively recent (1950s). There is an older church, but that was closed for repairs when I was there. The Black Madonna is medieval and may have been removed from Constantinople. Photos taken inside the church have been sharpened a bit, due to low light levels.
There are also some old Greek/Roman ruins, including mosaics and an amphitheatre
