Monte Cassino and Caserta Royal Palace

Monte Cassino monastry was destroyed during the long and bloody series of battles in 1944 and has been entirely rebuilt.

The Royal Palace at Caserta dates from the 18th century and was designed during King Charles III's reign to rival Versailles.I spent most of my time here walking along the very extensive water feature... and only managed to see about half of it!
