This is a trip to the Osa Peninsular in Jan/Feb, which is on the Pacific coast in the south.
I stayed at the excellent Casa Corcovado, which is a buffer zone adjoining the Corcovado National Park.

There were many colourful birds and insects, although my main interest is mammals,
which were not easy to see. In two weeks, I did spot (thanks to the guides!)
over a dozen mammal species, around 10% of Costa Rica's total.

Photography is quite challenging in rainforest areas...
either the subject is high in the trees,
partly obscured by leaves and with strong back lighting, or
the subject is down on the forest floor, in the gloom,
where high zooms and low shutter speeds often result in camera shake or subject movement!

During my stay I went twice to each of:
the San Pedrillo area,
the Sirena area,
the mangroves towards Sierpe

and once each to:
Cano Island,
San Josecito beach,

On other days I explored the trails in and around the hotel grounds,
adjacent to the National Park.

It only rained significantly on one morning during the 2 weeks....
Guests staying elsewhere in Costa Rica had experienced a lot more rain!

Overall, my videos came out better than the stills!
Indeed, nocturnal camera traps picked up puma, tapir, racoon and various catty things, probably ocelots, whilst I was there.
