One of six Bengal tiger cubs that were rescued in south Texas in June 2008 from an illegal sale of
these cubs, which were going to be taken to Mexico. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says tiger
cubs have been smuggled into Mexico through south Texas before. The cubs (4 white and 2 orange)
are being cared for at Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas.
Bengal tigers are an endangered species. They can grow to 9 feet long
and weigh more than 550 pounds.
