Halloween in West Hollywod OCT 31st 2006

I never did find out how many participated in this year's Halloween festivities on Santa Monica Boulevard, West Beverly Hills, California. I heard numbers anywhere from 350.000 to 500.000. It certainly felt like half a million. This celebration went without any noticeable problems. I was very impressed with the enthusiasm and ingenuity used to produce a lot of the costumes.

It was a photographers dream, but I must admit that I was thrown completely out of my comfort zone. You only had a couple of seconds to focus, adjust the flash, make a decent composition and catch the right expressions. I, personally, think I have achieved that in a fair bit of the pics. I have chosen to post some of the "other pics" as well, for the simple reason that I like a costume, scene or expression, etc.

As for the photography, well there is nothing for me to say, but your pictures are outstanding, in fact I think you should give up flying and take this up as a new career! I am more than impressed with all the work that is up on this site - excellent stuff and well done again, Cheers Glenn

Kinda like a train wreck... you don't really want to look, but yet you can't turn away. You have some brilliant candid shots here, and yes, some of them are quite disturbing. Nice work.
