This was so much a part of the day that I had to include it. Monarchs and some other species of butterflies were handsome distractions as their flitting about kept drawing one's eye from the fallout of passerines that covered the beach Oct. 6-7. Apparently they, too, rode the north winds of the front that went through on the 5th.
