This young bird was found on bay side shoreline of the marsh just north of the High Pines area of Duxbury Beach. It allowed me to get close enough to get some good shots with my 300mm zoom lens. This clearly shows the patterning and the short bill that make this a juvenile. The next shot shows the characteristic crown pattern of a Whimbrel.
