Grand Canyon: Havasu Falls Hike

These photos are from a 3 day trip hiking the Havasu Canyon trail on the Havasupai Indian Reservation adjacent to Grand Canyon National Park. Havasupai translates to people-of-the-blue-green waters. It is a 10 mile hike from the trailhead at Hualupai Hilltop to the campground. Five of us hiked down and the other four rented horses and rode down.

The beautiful color of the water is due to the high concentration of calcium carbonate particles suspended in the water.

wow, such an amazing trip, you captured its beauty well. I was at Grand Canyon but knew nothing of this being close by. I could see me taking a horse on this trip :)

Rian, I have been wanting to do this trip for a long time when an old hiking partner of mine told me of this place ten years ago.
