Hi Rian, Your talent is absolutely stunning! I have a website client that is looking for a panoramic view of Longs peak. You have a couple that would be suitable. The intent is to brag on the fact that the business is located in Colorado. We would use it as a header photo across the top of the page. Please let me know what your standard compensation would be for this type of usage. Thank You for sharing such a variety of incredible views of Colorado and beyond. Phil

Hello Rian,
I am not a mamber of PBase and have only discovered it within the last 3 weeks. There have been a number of photographers and associated galleries that have really impressed me, that was, until I came accross your work!
You would have to be one of the most talanted photographers I have ever seen. Your galleries are more that outstanding, they are simply magnificant in every aspect. I don't think I saw a single photo that did not inspire me. A special thankyou for telling us what the photos are and where they were taken. It is something very important for me (living in Australia), so many PBase photographers do not bother to tell people where the photos were taken and just what they are of. They assume (I think) that because they know what they are, that everybody else does as well.
I have only been to Hawaii in the USA, but after spending the last couple of days engrossed in your photographic masterpieces, I feel the I have just finished a tour of the USA mainland....and it did not cost me anything!!!! Thank you so very much for sharing you work and your wonderful talent. I wish you all the very best for the future.

Rian: Thanks for viewing my Bisti Gallery. The arch you were referring to is small. About ten feet long and a few feet high and & wide. It is interesting, but not overwhelming. I didn't make it very far in there because of my age and time restrictions. Bill Mahan

Rian,
I'm preparing a talk on Michigan sand dunes for the ICAR (International Conference on Aeolian Research) meeting in a week and a half and have decided that a photo of a perched dune at Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore would help pep it up visually. I do not have a good photo myself. One of my co-authors has worked at Sleeping Bear and I've asked him for a image. However he is in the field right now and in case he does not get the message I'm looking for a backup. Your photo would work well and I'm wondering if I could use it. I would use it only one time for a presentation at a scientific conference: there are no commercial ramifications.
Thanks for considering this,

Rian, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, I don't remember exactly where I took this. I took about 200 photos. I remember that it was looking back (toward the parking area) from one of the "public" viewing areas, however.

You have a wonderful sense of composition and use high contrast to focus the eye to your subject. Your photos really move me and look like the scenes I would love to paint. It captures everything I love best about Colorado. I now live on the West coast, so the ocean is my current passion, but someday I will paint your majestic peaks and reflective lakes. Visit my web to see what I do at www.LeasureFineArt.com Keep up the fantastic work!!!

I'm speechless. Your photographs are stunning, Rian. Amazing.
Guest 18-Sep-2005 02:11
Hi Rian!
It's been a while since I check my messages and I saw yours tonight. Thanks for your comments. The last week in October and the first week in November are the best times to catch the fall colors at McKittrick Canyon. And the colors are spectacular. But call the ranger station in mid October to find out when the colors are at their peak. The moose shots were taken in the Grand Teton NP at the Oxbow Bend Turnout, just east of the Jackson Lake Junction. I worked that outlook two sunrisies in a row and got these the second day. That was early October of last year.
I love your Grand Canyon gallery. I hope to backpack it someday.
Keep up the great work.

Hello, Rian. Thanks for leaving a comment on my gallery. I have seen your gallery before since I am researching for my next trip this October. You have some wonderful shots of parks that I hope to visit in the future. I am planning of going to the eatern Sierra this fall and hope to capture some fall colors around the area between Bishop in the south and Lee Vining in the north. I also did not get into photography until I bought my first digital camera in 2001 and I've been hooked since. Keep up the good work.
