US Troopship SS Argentina

Boarded US Troopship SS Argentina in Port of Southampton, England for return to the USA, after 3 years overseas. Landed in Newport News, Virginia July 2, 1945. Some happy differences from first journey on this same ship in July 1942 to the United Kingdom by way of the North Atlantic Ocean.

You will never know the feeling of pride that I felt when I viewed the ole photo of the SS Argentina, knowing that she had finally made it to the hands of one who would never forget her and was sharing her with the world. I will always wonder where the photo really came from, but so glad that you and the ship are now sailing together again. Thanks for sharing your album and I will pass it on. God Bless you and the men of the 56th.
