This rare visitor to this area from the far North (Alaska and surrounding areas) has been spending it's days
in the Sharp Park Golf Course in Pacifia, Ca where it's been sharing the habitat with the resident Canada
Geese. I'd read that it's been chased by the Canada Geese and this day was no exception. Several times
one of the local geese chased it away from where it was grazing on the grass and caused it to run or fly
to a safer location. The final clash I witnessed was when the visitor didn't notice the Canada Goose closing
on it and took a drubbing. That caused it to leave the grass area completely and fly over to the nearby pond
to escape. Records indicate the last visit of this handsome species of goose to the area may have been in 1960.

The chase is on.
Landing after flying to escape the Canada's aggression.
A brief, peaceful moment...
The Emperor Goose seems blissfully unaware of the Canada's approach.
And pays the price.
On it's back.
On it's way to the nearby pond.
